Speaking, Workshops & Coaching

Practical tools for communicating, leading, and moving meaningful work forward

Healthcare professionals do meaningful work inside complicated systems. They regularly navigate uncertainty, difficult conversations, institutional change, and the pressure to get everything right.

I draw on more than 20 years of experience across healthcare, academic medicine, public health, advocacy, and startups—as well as my training at Second City—to create engaging, practical experiences that help people communicate more effectively, build trust, and move difficult work forward.

Programs can be customized as keynotes, grand rounds, interactive workshops, or team sessions.

Topics include:

  • Communication and leadership under uncertainty

  • Inclusive leadership and organizational change

  • LGBTQ health and patient experience

  • Improv as a tool for collaboration and trust

  • Menopause, sexual health, and healthcare innovation

Featured Program: Practicing Improv, Improving Medicine

Practical tools for communicating and leading when the script disappears

Healthcare rarely follows a script. Conversations take unexpected turns, institutions change, hierarchies shape interactions, and leaders must often respond before they have perfect information.

In this lively, interactive program, I translate the principles of improv into practical tools for medicine and healthcare leadership.

Participants learn to:

  • Listen more closely and stay present

  • Respond productively when conversations take an unexpected turn

  • Use “yes, and” to strengthen communication and collaboration

  • Navigate difficult moments without defensiveness or false certainty

  • Build trust across roles, experiences, and differences

This is not about performing or being funny. It is about paying attention, supporting the people around you, and making one good next move.

When the script disappears, we do not have to disappear with it.

Available as an interactive keynote, workshop, grand rounds presentation, or customized team session for clinicians, researchers, trainees, and healthcare leaders. No acting experience required.

Career and Leadership Coaching

Healthcare is full of smart, committed people doing meaningful work—and wondering what should come next.

I work one-on-one with healthcare professionals who want a thoughtful, experienced partner as they navigate an important decision, leadership challenge, organizational change, or new opportunity.

Clients come to coaching when they are:

  • Considering a new role or larger leadership opportunity

  • Feeling stuck, undervalued, or uncertain about what comes next

  • Navigating workplace politics, organizational change, or burnout

  • Building a new program, organization, venture, or idea

  • Preparing for a consequential conversation or decision

Together, we clarify what you want, identify what may be getting in the way, and turn your thinking into action.

My approach is practical, candid, and grounded in real-world experience. I listen carefully, ask useful questions, help you recognize patterns, and tell you what I really think. We may also laugh. Most difficult things become more manageable when we can discuss them honestly.

Coaching is confidential and action-oriented. It is not therapy or generic career advice.
